FORMER local licensee, Mrs Alice Regan, died on Friday, aged 88.
Wife of the late John, she kept The Correction in Plank Lane; the Church Inn, Tyldesley; The Spinners in Atherton; The Union in Butts Bridge, and the Rathalt Hotel in Caernarvon, before moving to Ireland in 1965 to take up farming. The devout Roman Catholic, who returned to her Leigh roots in 1980, leaves a son, John, and four grandchildren.She lioved at the Waterside Nursing Home, Leigh
The funeral is at St Gabriel's, Higher Fold on Tuesday at 2pm, followed by interment at Leigh Cemetery.
