FAMOUS actors and actresses who have links with Burnley feature in a new exhibition by historian James Howell.

He has collected a variety of photographs, cuttings and articles and they are on show at Burnley heritage Centre, Lower St James Street, Burnley, until September 19.

Burnley's first actress Mary Lowes, a silent movie star, is pictured along with 50 items from other stars including Burnley TV actress Kathy Jamieson, Rossendale's Jane Horrocks, Bubble from Absolutely Fabulous, and Anna Friel, best known for Beth Jordache in Channel Four soap Brookside, who has relatives in the Burnley area and whose first movie Land Girls opens tomorrow.

Mr Howell said: "I am very grateful to everyone who has helped me put the exhibition together by donating items, they include friends and stars of TV and films."
