ONE of Rugby League's worst-kept secrets finally came out in the open yesterday (Wednesday) when Saints' Shaun McRae was named coach of Super League newcomers Gateshead.
McRae will see the remainder of the season out at Knowsley Road. But he is being followed out of the club by his assistant, Mike Gregory, whose contract is not being renewed.
Meanwhile, Saints have signed Australian prop Phil Adamson from Penrith Panthers.
