GET your tickets ready - the National Lottery is coming to Blackpool.

Saturday's show will be televised live from the Grand Theatre for the final programme of a national tour, and guests will include Irish girl-band B*witched, pop veterans Culture Club (both of whom will be performing their new singles live) and comic Norman Wisdom.

Comedian Bradley Walsh will present the BBC show while presenter Di Evans will take a look around the resort to show how Lottery money has been spent in the area.

In the spotlight will be Phil Simpson, head of sports at Blackpool and the Fylde College.

He will tell viewers how a £400,000 lottery grant is helping build an all-weather pitch that will transform sports facilities at the college's Ashfield Road campus.

The £500,000 pitch, open to the whole community for a range of team sports, is also funded by the college, Blackpool Council, the Football Association and Blackpool Rangers Jnr FC and will open in October.

The Grand Theatre was chosen as the main venue because it has previously received lottery grants, significantly for the impressive canopy area in Matcham Court.

A spokesperson for the BBC added: "We chose Blackpool as the final venue because this is a summer show and we wanted to take it to one of the biggest and most popular resorts for the finale."

Admission is by ticket only and people will have between 6.50 and 7.10pm to get to their seats. Saturday's Comedy Bonanza performance has been rescheduled to start later in the evening.

Due to gaming laws no one under 16 will be admitted.
