THE St Helens Combination's 1998-99 season begins on Tuesday September 1 when St Helens Star Premier and Division One matches kick off at 6.15pm.

Globe FC who were relegated to Division One last season have changed their name yet again and will now go under the title of College Street FC.

The Second and Third Divisions will start their campaign on Thursday September 3 again with a 6.15pm kick off.

Apart from the odd re-arranged games like Beeches Reserves v Gerard Arms on Friday September 4 and two games the following Tuesday September 8, these will be the only mid-week games scheduled.

Child FC, last years Premier Division Champions and LCFA Junior Cup winners, have prograessed into Round Two of the North West Inter League Alliances Champions Cup by virtue of a 3-2 extra time winner by Tommy Baker (Gary Moore grabbing the first two goals) at Hailsworth FC (Bolton).

But they could have a stiffer task next round, the semi-final, when they entertain Wigan Amateur Premier Division Champions Winstanley St Aidens FC on Wednesday evening September 9 at the Holt FC, kick off 6.30pm.

The under 18 Inter League managers post has still not been filled, but chairman and ex-manager Eric Bond will fill the breach until relieved.

Phil Duffy will once again be responsible for the Open Age squad who start their seasons campaign with a visit to Bolton Combination sometime in September.

Teams are reminded they should send evidence of their insurance cover to David Watkins before they kick-off. FIXTURES
