CLEVELEYS is a lovely seaside town, but why must it be spoiled by people letting their dogs mess on footpaths and on the beach.

I thought by law dog owners are supposed to clear up and put it in the bins provided. Don't dog owners have any consideration for members of the public who do not have dogs?

Children play on the beach and walk on the footpaths, dog dirt is dangerous as it can cause blindness among other things - and it's not very nice when you tread in it either.

Maybe it would be a good idea to employ wardens to go round the town, along the beach and prom to make sure people do stick to the law and pick it up - if not, fine them on the spot. Dog owners should be made to pay £50 a year for each dog they have.

And I think dogs should not be allowed on the beaches.

So come on dog owners, help make Cleveleys a cleaner place to live.

Have some respect for other members of the public.

An angry resident,

Cleveleys.
