EARLY morning police raids failed to find the men police believe are responsible for the Samurai maiming of Louis Makin.
Mr Makin's condition is still giving grave cause for concern at Bolton Royal Infirmary where he had a 40-pint blood transfusion following horrific wounds which nearly severed an arm and leg nearly three weeks ago.
On Tuesday afternoon he had an operation to amputate his right arm above the elbow.
Det Supt Ian Seabridge, leading the hunt for the two attackers - thought to be involved in a drugs turf war - revealed house raids in the Swinton area had failed to find one of the men believed to be involved.
"But we are continuing to follow up lines of inquiry and have received a lot of help from the people of Leigh."
Mr Makin (pictured) was attacked while at a house in Thompson Street, Leigh.
Police are also investigating possible links with two similar attacks in Atherton in July.
