PRESTON'S Flag Market resounded to the roar of Town Criers last Saturday when the country's best attended the annual competition.
The Criers were dressed in traditional costume and provided an attractive and distinctive display as they displayed their skills in front of a panel of experienced judges.
Preston's own Town Crier, Mike Chapman, hosted the event and said it proved extremely successful.
He said: "It was an excellent day, the weather was great. I was delighted with the big crowds."
The winner of the event was Geordie Pring, from Devon, who was given top marks for his appearance and high volume.
Second place was Andy Lowe, from Whitby, while Peter Taunton, from Stafford, was third.
