IWOULD have thought by now Hyndburn Council would have come to their senses and continued with their community safety wardens scheme.
Two of the most popular things going for Accrington were the free parking and the wardens.
The council had the foresight to introduce the warden scheme, which has been a huge success and given the town something to be proud of.
Wardens are the thing of the near future and as police are needed for more specialised work, there is need for a second tier of care in the community.
We could do with a similar scheme in our town for dealing with the mundane tasks the police have to tackle at the moment and that would benefit us all.
Think again, Hyndburn - show Blackburn how to do it!
