TEACHERS in all types of schools in East Lancashire are invited to look through our latest newspapers in education resources for themselves tomorrow and Thursday.

Our brand new Maths Motivation Materials and Super Story Search literacy resource will be on display from 3.45 to 6pm at our head office in Blackburn.

Teachers have been invited to come along to see these for themselves and discuss ways in which the resources can help to support objectives of the National Literacy Strategy and help to prepare for the National Numeracy Strategy.

If you are a teacher, or trainee teacher, and haven't yet received your invitation, you are welcome to turn up on either date at our head office situated between Morrison's Supermarket and the railway station, alongside the bus station in the centre of Blackburn.

Our Maths Motivation Material for KS1 to KS4 pupils and our Super Story Search reading and literacy activity resource for KS2 to KS3, will be launched on October 5. Both resources make direct links with suitable aspects of the content and production of our newspaper and copies of this are delivered each day to participating schools.

Worksheets, workbooks and supplements, written by experienced local teachers, guide youngsters and adults working with them through an extensive range of tasks to carry out in the classroom and at home.

And, as our newspaper carries information on local areas and local and national issues, many subjects including history, geography, business and media studies, PSE, PE, citizenship and careers can be supported by the material as well as English and Maths.
