A CHILDREN'S author travelled from London to help open a section of Nelson library aimed at children and adults with reading difficulties.
Lisa Kopper, pictured above with seven-year-old Gibfield pupil Wayne Dow and her bull terrier dog Dolly who featuures in one of her books, joined library staff and other pupils from Gibfield Special School, Colne, yesterday to launch a selection of easy-read books aimed at boosting reading skills.
A similar section opened several years ago at Burnley Library has proved a great success.
Children's librarian Elizabeth Hitchen explained: " Anyone of any age can use the section. The idea is to get children and adults interested in reading through large print books or easier versions of the classics."
