THE people of Burnley are to be asked how best to restore peace to the town.

Plans for a new Peace Garden will go on show in the Thompson Centre on November 19 and the council wants to know what the public think of the scheme and how to improve it.

The former garden was recently demolished to make way for the town centre Curzon Square development.

Its replacement, paid for out of cash from the new shops and parking project, will take shape in the Place de Vitry, between the library and the magistrates court.

Burnley council say it will provide a sheltered, tranquil sitting area, still leaving space for the annual Remembrance Service.

The sketch proposals will be on display at the Thompson Centre foyer to Friday 27 November.

People are invited to write comments on slips provided, with all views taken into consideration in the final design.
