I AM concerned at the sale and misuse of fireworks.
The type being used today are no longer bangers -- they are more like explosive devices.
It's some use telling pet owners to keep their animals indoors on Bonfire Night when these types of fireworks are being set off at least a month before and at least a month after November 5.
In fact, loud fireworks are now being set off on every conceivable occasion -- birthdays, Christmas, New Year, opening ceremonies, etc.
Many old people and animals are literally being frightened out of their wits.
It is time that these loud, explosive-type fireworks were sold and used on some kind of local authority licence and the outdated bonfire night wiped from the calendar.
