HAVING spent Christmas and New Year in Ward 6 at Blackburn Infirmary, having broken my hip on December 23, I would like to thank the staff for their kindness, advice and skill.
I could not have had better attention if I had been a private patient.
On Christmas Day every patient on the ward got a gift, wine and a can of beer or lager, all paid for by the staff.
God bless them all.
I also would like to say a big thank-you to the young couple who got out of their car to help me when I fell, phoned for an ambulance and stayed with me until it arrived.
FRANK TATE (Mr), aged 80, St Margaret's Way, Blackburn.
