BLACKBURN Rovers have responded to the complaints of season-ticket holders by commissioning a major survey - and chief executive John Williams promised at last night's annual meeting of shareholders that the club would listen to their fans.

A total of 500 season-ticket holders, which is a significant representation, will be interviewed and the results will help to shape future Rovers policy.

Rovers have made attempts this season to expand their fan base by offering cheaper tickets to try to introduce people from further afield to becoming regulars at Ewood.

It is one way they have looked at how a small-town club can survive with the big-city boys in the Premiership.

But the scheme has attracted a storm of protest from season-ticket holders.

"In general terms we have one of the lowest spectator bases in the Premiership," he said.

"They will be lengthy interviews and, as a result of them, we will formulate our policy for next year."

Williams promised that they would look at all suggestions such as loyalty and length of service discounts for season-ticket holders.
