REGARDING the Sherwood saga. There are pros and cons, rights and wrongs, but most of the problem lies, as in everything else these days, in money.

It's up to clubs to make a stand. If a player has no desire to play for his country or team, so be it - let him go.

Thousands of other players would give all they have for the opportunity to represent their town or club.

Players - extremely well-paid professionals - hold clubs to ransom, believing the team cannot manage without them.

They seem to have lost the meaning of the word 'loyalty'.
