AN identity parade of chimney pots is being held at Nelson Police Station.

Police have arrested and bailed four men from the Manchester area and in the back of their vehicle they found 10 pots.

Now they are to be put on display at Nelson station and anyone who is missing a pot is asked to go along and identify their property.

Sergeant Jon Yates said: "We understand the pots were stolen from the Barrowford, Higherford and Blacko areas and we are appealing for residents to see if they can identify their pot. Anyone who has had a chimney pot stolen can call into the inquiry desk and ask to view them."

The pots are between 3ft and 4ft high and brown glazed. Some have crowns and could be worth more than £50 each.
