MPs have praised British Aerospace over its involvement in the Airbus project
Chorley MP Lindsay Hoyle has put down a Commons Motion highlighting the role of the firm in the project which provides thousands of jobs in East Lancashire, mainly at BAe's Samlesbury site.
He has been backed by 22 other MPs including Leigh's Lawrence Cunliffe, Wigan's Roger Stott, Bolton South East Brian Iddon and Bolton North East David Crausby.
The MPs "congratulated British Aerospace on their progress in producing Airbus."
The motion goes on to say: "We note that they recently completed production of their 2,000 set of wings for the Airbus Aircraft, manufactured at various sites in the North West, sustaining thousands of jobs for workers in Lancashire.
"We note that this represents an increased rate of production and hope that this will continue in future years."
