COLNE United are involved in a real fight to avoid relegation from Division One of the East Lancs League following their latest 2-1 defeat at Worsthorne.

An excellend end-to-end game saw Colne take a 1-0 lead through returning striker Rod Lange with Worsthorne equalising before half time.

With time running out Boyes hit the winner for Worsthorne leaving Colne beaten yet again by the odd goal. Although Colne have a number of matches in hand over other sides at the wrong end of the table, their record of only two wins and two draws will have to be improved if they are to survive.

Worsthorne Reserves meanwhile, consolidated their lead in the Reserve Division. Their 6-2 win over Colne United Res leaves them seven points clear at the top.
