HUNCOAT United's Under-14s marksman Adam Laycock hit a superb hat-trick at Haslingden after his side had gone in at the break with only a slender one-goal advantage.

A very tight first half was followed by a mini collapse by the opposing defence during which five more goals were scored by Huncoat, giving them a 6-0 victory.

As well as man-of-the-match Laycock's triple, Joel Mason, Danny Stevenson and Tom Elhasham (ref's man of the match), also hit the target.

The Under-Nines Stars had a closely-fought 1-0 encounter with Great Harwood Rovers. Liam Brankin scored the only goal for Huncoat. Ref's man of the match was Thomas Dunne, George Walsh the manager's. The Under Nine aces lost 2-1 to Akzo Green. Huncoat had only six men. The score was 1-1 with 30 seconds to go when Akzo got the winner. John Spencer (ref's man of the match) scored for Huncoat. Bradley Rodgson was the manager's.

The Under 10s had a good convincing 5-0 win over North Valley Dynamoes and end their league season in third place. Goals came from ref's man of the match Nick Hewison (three), Joe Roberts and Conor Gaskell (manager's man of the match).

On Saturday, the Under 11s beat Wilpshire Wanderers 9-0 with goals from D Burrell (3), A Spencer, C Brankin, R Entwistle, D Mallabourne, man of the match L Stinson, and the goalie T Riley from a corner in the dying minutes.

On Sunday they beat Knuzden 5-1, goals from J Haworth, A Spencer, man of the match R Entwistle, C Brankin and D Burrell.

The Under 16s had a very narrow 2-1 defeat by Brunlea. Scorer was Anthony Bolton. Ref's man of the match was Craig Easton.
