Morecambe 3 Bamber Bridge 2MANAGER Jim Harvey didn't use either of his star new signings in this exciting ATS Trophy semi-final on Tuesday night.

That they're to return will leave him in even better spirits ahead of his team's match at Woking this weekend as Morecambe's resurgence continues.

"My two new players weren't registered so they couldn't play," said Harvey, "that meant it was a completely new back four and we went 2-0 down. But I was very proud of all the team last night. That's another final which is great. I was also very pleased that we kept a clean sheet against Kingstonian which we don't normally do so I've high hopes ahead of Saturday's game."

Bamber were 2-0 up before Morecambe's dramatic comeback booked them a place in the final at Deepdale - which is exactly what happened in the Shrimps' game against Hereford in the Endsleigh Trophy just two weeks ago.

Brig scored on 15 minutes with a Peter Borrowdale strike and on 30 minutes when Stuart Cliff knocked it past Andy Banks from a tight angle.

Morecambe had been second best all through this match before Darren Lyons scored a superb free kick from just outside the box. His powerful shot gave Harrison no chance in the Brig goal.

The second half saw Shrimps take control of the game and it was no surprise when leading scorer John Norman scored his 23rd of the season with a header from yet another good Lyons cross just four minutes after the restart.

Then, ten minutes later, came Shrimps' moment of glory. Kenny Takano, who had his best game since his return, knocked in a dangerous cross which the Bamber defence failed to clear. Eventually it fell to Barry Keeling who knocked in the simplest of chances.

That prompted Brig to throw everything they could at Morecambe but to no avail.

Morecambe will have to await the outcome of Monday's Southport and Darwen tie to find out who they will face in their second successive ATS Trophy final.
