WORK began on a multi-million pound scheme to transform the semi-derelict auction mart site in Clitheroe into a major tourist attraction.
The market was to be remodelled into a landscaped area to be used for travelling shows, markets and other attractions to bring life into the town centre, as well as 20 housing association flats.
Converted for the new archive on 14 July 2000. Some images and formatting may have been lost in the conversion.
