VIOLENCE was growing on Lancashire's streets with the county crime figures showing a staggering rise and a third of the county's crime being committed in the Blackburn and Burnley areas.

While the rest Britain's crime fell by five per cent, Lancashire's rose by three per cent and robberies were up by 40 per cent, according to Home Office figures.
