NEW signing Jason Rogers struck twice as Bacup over-powered their lowly opposition.
Borough defended and attacked well against a spirited Mechanics.
Rogers and another new signing Paul Thomas performed well and, with Colin Lambert making a welcome return to West View, Bacup seemed to have more bite in attack.
But it was Mechanics who went ahead in the 17 minute when Darren McDermot beat Nicky Taylor to a long ball to lob over the advancing Bacup keeper's head.
However their lead was short lived as, from the restart, Bacup levelled through Rogers on 18 minutes.
Play was end to end with both defences playing well.
But, on 35 minutes, Bacup took the lead through Rogers who shot into the roof of the net.
The second half saw Blackpool attack in force but the Bacup defence held well with Neil Rowbotham playing his sweeping role to perfection, ably supported by his colleagues at the back.
Four minutes from time Nicky Taylor outjumped the Mechanics defence to head the ball over the visiting keeper's hands.
