THE Eurovision sister act from Prestwich may have missed out on a trip to Jerusalem, but there will be one local representative in Israel.

For one member of Precious, the all-girl group who won the competition organised by the BBC to find a song for Eurovision, is the daughter of a local publican.

Jennifer Frost (20) has lived at the Grapes pub on Bury New Road, since she was six years old.

But despite schoolfriends at St Monica's High mentioning that she had a good voice, the former model never really considered herself to be a singer.

During a hectic week since winning the song contest Jennifer was able to grab a few moments to speak to the Guide on her mobile phone in a lift in a hotel in London!

"Friends had said I had a good voice when I sang along to records, but I didn't think of myself as a singer," she said. "I worked as a model after leaving school. It was just one of those things when about six months ago my friend Sophie McDonnell said she was going to London to audition for a group called Precious. I went along with her and we both got in!"

And what does winning the British part of the competition mean to her? "I'm very excited, particularly about going to Jerusalem. We're all just looking forward to having a good time."

Meanwhile, Prestwich's other entry in the competition, Sister Sway, who were pipped to the post by Precious, are putting their obvious disappointment behind them.

Nikki and Mandi Jackson got through to the final four of the competition.

Now the girls are looking forward to the release of their single, Until You Save My Life which came second. They are also preparing to film a video to accompany the record.

"Of course we're disappointed, we thought it was a great song and lots of people seemed to think we were in with a chance," said Nikki (29).

"However, the single will be out next month, we've nearly finished our first album and we're enjoying a great career.

"And of course, Prestwich will still be there in Jerusalem."

The three girls only met in passing during filming and, in fact were not aware that they all came from Prestwich.

Nikki added: "Of course we wish her all the best and hope that our British song wins Eurovision."
