SOUTH Ribble Councillor David Snape has decided not to contest his seat at this year's full council elections.

The council's housing committee chairman, who has represented Moss Side since 1991, gave family commitments as his reason for standing down.

Jim Minnall will stand for election in hiss place, with Coun Snape acting as Jim's agent.

The other two seats in Moss Side, will once again be contested on behalf of Labour by council leader Gina Lewis and Anne Brown. Coun Snape will also act as agents for them.

Coun Snape plans to remain a member of the South Ribble Labour Party.
