MICKY Graham will quit as manager of Rossendale United at the end of the season unless directors can come up with a rescue package to save the club in the next week.

The Dark Lane outfit are struggling financially and Graham wants assurances new backers will be found before pledging his future to the club.

"There are some problems at the club which need resolving otherwise there is no way I can continue," said Graham.

"I've told the board I need to know what's happening in the next week.

"I don't think the club is capable of sorting itself out, I think it needs someone new to come in and takeover.

"But that's not down to me because I'm only the manager.

"I just want to work as professionally as I can and if you want to move forward as a side you need to start making plans now.

"I don't want to have to be chasing around at the end of the season and all through the summer like I've had to for the last three seasons.

"I need to know where I stand."

In the meantime it's business as usual for Graham as his side aim to bounce back from their midweek defeat at Vauxhall GM with three points at Glossop North End tomorrow.

Matt Raywood, John Richardson and Andy Smith should all be back to strengthen the United squad but Sean Bursnell faces a late fitness check on a hamstring problem.

"I was quite pleased with how we performed against Vauxhall considering we had three or four new guys in," said Graham.

"We should be good enough to get something at Glossop because they're going through a bit of an indifferent spell but it all depends on how we perform on the day."
