MRS Vera Stringer was re-elected as vice-chairman of Bury Health Care NHS Trust at a meeting earlier this week.

Mrs Stringer, 52, of Brandlesholme, has been a non-executive member of the Trust board for four years and says she is ready to take on her second year as vice-chairman.

She said: "I am delighted to have been re-elected. It is a real honour for me to serve on the board and to know that I have the confidence of my fellow board members."
