HOMELESS worker Tony Hennessy had to gee up his young charges after they suffered an 8-2 defeat in the name of Lancaster to counterparts in Barrow.
"They were a bit down," laughed Tony, "but I just told them they had nothing to be ashamed of and that was true. Our young homeless people didn't have boots or anything like that but the Barrow ones did. Of course they've played before as well so we've plenty of excuses!
"Anyway, in real football talk, I'd just like to say it was a game of two halves and we were only 3-2 down at half time. They took a real ribbing back at the homeless centre. Now we'd like to appeal to anyone who can properly train a team to knock them into shape so we can play Barrow again. We'll also take any old football boots people don't want any more." Call Tony on 842008 if you can help.
