A NEW video highlighting the dangers of parking outside schools is being launched at Bleak Hill Primary School on Thursday, April 22.
Merseyside Police, St Helens Council and St Helens College have jointly produced a hard-hitting road safety video aimed at parents and school children. 'Through My Eyes' stars pupils from Bleak Hill School and illustrates a range of road safety messages.
Council leader, Councillor Mike Doyle, who narrates the video, said: "Every school in the borough has a problem with heavy congestion caused by vehicles parking outside the school gates. This video, which was produced by the college students, will be available for use throughout the borough."
Additionally, the video will promote the 'Pavements for People Campaign' and the new parking regulations for school zig zag markings.
Coun Doyle added: "The 'Pavements for People Campaign' aims to keep pavements clear and clean for all pedestrians and this video will support the message. Parents who illegally park on the zig zags will find themselves liable for a fixed penalty fine.
