THREE schools from the Fylde pitted their wits against other North West counterparts in the grand final of the Whitbread Education Challenge.

Teams from Blackpool's Highfield High, who were overall senior winners, and Lytham St Annes High and Hodgson High in Poulton have spent the past three months in different Whitbread outlets, including Marriott Hotels, Pizza Huts, Beefeaters and Brewers Fayres, completing curriculum projects on catering, art, design and IT.

Highfield pupils completed a profile of the Queensway Beefeater to take the honours, Hodgson chose the Millers Arms Beefeater while Lytham St Annes High compiled a project about the Blossoms Brewers Fayre.
