SIXTH-PLACED Leeds Rhinos will be hoping to come to Knowsley Road as Cup holders when they face unbeaten league leaders Saints in a re-arranged game on Tuesday, kick-off 8pm, reports DENIS WHITTLE .

Leeds are hot favourities to win their Wembley Final clash with London Broncos on Saturday and were reluctant to play Saints just three days later, but the home club acted according to rule by insisting the match takes place just a day after the original Bank Holiday date.

Said Saints' secretary Geoff Sutcliffe: "In reality it is all about maintaining our cash flow because, if Leeds did not come to Knowsley Road on Tuesday, there would be a five-week gap between Saints' last home fixture against Sheffield on April 18 and the visit of Warrington on May 23."

Saints' game at Castleford, which was scheduled for Wednesday, May 26, has been re-arranged for the previous Wednesday, May 19, kick-off 7.30pm. The switch has been made because the European Cup Final will be televised on the original date.

Man-of-the-match Steve Hall led the way with two sparkling tries as the Alliance side ended Hull Sharks' 12-match winning run with a 26-14 victory at Knowsley Road. Saints' other touchdowns were scored by John Hamilton (a rousing 40-yard solo effort), Gareth Price and Brian Capewell, who also kicked three goals. Starlets Danny Butler and Mike Bennett led the way with an hat-trick apiece when the Academy side won 56-32 at Hull on Sunday. Paul Johnstone (2), John Lester, and Chris Dootson also touched down and John Braddish kicked eight goals. Leeds will visit Knowsley Road on Tuesday, kick-off 6pm

Saints' football manager Eric Hughes has dismissed reports that Scott Gibbs and Jarrod McCracken are to rejoin Saints as 'pure speculation.'

The next meeting for both age groups of the Woolworth's Junior Saints' Club will be held at Knowsley Road on Tuesday, June 1, at 6pm. New members welcome. The club are organising a trip to Sheffield for the game against Saints on Saturday, July 10, which includes a tour of the stadium.
