A TERRIFIED Radcliffe woman had a knife pressed against her throat during a frightening robbery at her home.

A thug had apparently lain in wait for the 26-year-old victim in the garden of her home in Outwood Road around noon on Monday (April 26).

He then forced the woman into the house at knifepoint before stealing jewellery, a video camera and other items.

Detective Sergeant Dave Maguire of Bury police said: "It seems the offender had waited in the garden for this woman to come home.

"She was then threatened with the knife which was held against her face and throat."

After being forced into the house, the woman was ordered to remove items of jewellery.

The thug then searched the house and stole other items of jewellery, together with a handbag, purse, wallet and video camera.

Police say the armed robber was 5ft 10ins tall, medium build and had stubble on his chin.

He wore a blue denim jacket and jeans and white training shoes. He spoke with a local accent.

The frightened female sustained redness to her neck due to the knife being placed there and was also shocked following her ordeal.

Now, detectives are anxious to speak to anyone who saw the knifeman before or after the raid.

They should contact Det Con Shaun Dwyer at Whitefield CID on 856 8248 or freephone CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.
