I'M staggered by the poor standards of students appearing on Channel 4's Fifteen to One for schools, which has replaced the senior quiz for the time being.
Some do stand out, I admit, but general knowledge seems totally lacking in the majority.
One lad thought Dr Christian Barnard - the famous pioneer of heart transplant surgery - discovered penicillin.
Kids don't seem to have any interest in anything these days unless they can plug it in.
