GREGG Nicholls led the Fylde U15s to a memorable victory in the Preston Grasshoppers Sevens Tournament.

During the event they were particularly pleased to take the scalp of Sedgeley Park who narrowly beat them in last year's Lancashire Cup final.

This has rounded an impressive season for Gregg who has represented North of England U16s in competitive games and attended national training camps at the RFU's training quarters at Bisham Abbey.

Gregg has played his rugby at Fylde RUFC since being only eight years old and has been part of a very successful group of boys over the years.

Gregg has captained the Fylde team to many notable cup successes including the National Lions Tournament at Rugby School on two consecutive years.

Following the successful representation of Lancashire schools and clubs last year, Gregg has gone one step further and progressed through to representing the North of England team at U16 level despite giving a full one year to most of his counterparts.

Gregg is now looking forward to the new season with great anticipation of moving into the full England U16 team.

No doubt county and country commitments will continue to restrict Gregg's availability through the season for Fylde U16s, but they look forward to him rejoining them as and when his commitments allow.

His fellow players and supporters at Fylde RUFC and Arnold School wish Gregg every possible continued success.
