Lancashire Lynx 12pts, Hunslet Hawks 53

LANCASHIRE Lynx slumped to yet another heavy defeat, this time at the hands of Hunslet Hawks at Victory Park.

Lynx were well in the game in the first half, but Hunslet had too much power for the home side in the second half and ran out easy winners. Once again ill-discipline and individual errors contributed to Lynx's downfall and they must now be wondering where the next victory is going to come from.

After the game coach Steve Hampson said: "Once again it was the same old story. We started well but faded badly. This is down to the fitness of some players, especially the newcomers to the squad who have not had the pre-season to prepare."

On the injuries he said: "We lost Dave Smith early in the game with a suspected broken arm and Neil Alexander had to come off with an Achilles problem. On Saturday, due to the injury situation we only had 13 players at training and once again we have had to fetch players in.

"It was good however, to have John Donno back in the side and the performance of 17-year-old Paul Roberts from the Academy side gave hope for the future."
