THE naked man sculpture near the M65 at Lower Eccleshill (LET, May 29) is degrading and an eyesore. It does nothing for this town, but makes us into a laughing stock.
The councillors responsible for this latest price of junk in the name of art should be removed from office forthwith, for wasting huge amounts of money.
When I look at the state of Little Harwood, with its run-down streets and back streets (and there are other areas of the town the same), it makes me very angry indeed. Councillors are in office to improve the town, not to besmirch its image. No more of this junk art if you please.
And, for goodness sake, use some common sense for once and don't throw money about as if it is going out of fashion.
Would you buy this sculpture with their own money to put in their garden (a smaller version of course)? I don't think anyone would put it the even if they were given it for free.
