BORROWDALE United and Oaks United have broken clear of the pack with important wins in the 11th week of the competition.

Borrowdale are now on 30 points, five points clear of the Oaks in second and 12 points clear of Marsden Cross in third, after their 4-1 win over a very determined G&G Plumbing side who, with top League goalscorer Tom Fallows in their ranks, are always a danger. In fact, it was Fallows who equalised Matt Swallow's opener, but it was that man Gavin Lynch who killed off G&G in the last five minutes with two slick strikes following Adie Crabtree's oppor- tunist goal midway through the second half.

In the match of the day between second-placed Oaks United and third-placed Marsden Cross, Michael Yabantu came off the subs bench to score a dramatic late winner for the Oaks, in what was an end to end match in which one goal was always going to settle the issue. One Step Beyond once again showed their credentials as a force to be reckoned with, as they beat Pendle Forest 2-1 with goals from Gary Miller and Danny Gildert. Shane Rossall replied for Forest with his 10th of the season. Jetsun Sunbeds kick-started their season again with a 2-0 win over Adpak Aces to move into equal third position, Mark Barnes and Alan Harrison got the goal.

P&M Motors and the Kestrels played out this season's first goalless draw with Joe Scanlon coming closest for P&M.
