HOW lucky we all feel to live so near to the lovely Witton Park in Blackburn.

Certainly, with the warmer weather, what a lovely pastime it is to go for a quiet stroll in the park.

But no, in these days where the youth of the 1990s have no respect whatsoever for anything or anyone, we are faced with young lads speeding around the footpaths and lawns at speeds of up to 70 mph.

The council taxpayers of Blackburn pay for the upkeep of the park, which should be there for the enjoyment of all.

OK, kids, we all know what it's like to be young. We know you need to have a bit of a thrill and feel exhilarated, but at what cost?

Somebody's child will be injured or killed if your antics are not stopped. Surely, you can find some spare land miles away from anywhere to ride your motorbike?

The council tax helps pay the wages of our local constabulary - come on Lancashire police, do your job and make Witton Park safe this summer and every summer.
