I THINK Chris Sutton is a fine footballer and cannot fault his ambition to want to play in the Premiership.

The thing that does annoy me and probably every other Rovers supporter, is that in March this year, Sutton was quoted: "Even if we end up in the First Division, I feel that I owe it to Blackburn and their supporters to stay."

I, for one, was not foolish enough to believe Sutton, having recalled Colin Hendry and Alan Shearer also saying they "were staying." Maybe it is time there was a clause in a footballers'

megabucks contract stating: "Thou shalt not mislead or lie to your supporters."

So Gary Croft demands "showdown talks" with Brian Kidd. Fair enough, the guy wants first team football in the First Division, but what about when we get back in the Premiership? Croft again, as last season, will be out of his depth.
