AN angry pensioner wants retribution against the thugs who killed his geese.

Mr Harold Grundy (71), of Bridgefield Walk, Radcliffe, said: "Whoever is responsible should be killed themselves. They should be stoned to death, have their hands chopped off, or face the cat o' nine tails!"

The killers struck between 6pm last Thursday, June 24, and 10.30am on Friday.

Mr Grundy said: "Four geese were killed and one of them was put on the Metrolink track."

He kept the birds on a smallholding at Barlow's Farm, off Bury Road.

"I've had some of them for more than 20 years. They were like part of the family so I'm very upset," he said.

"I'm just hoping someone saw or knows those who did it. I've contacted the police and they said to let them know if there is any more information."

Mr Grundy keeps geese for their eggs. Originally, he had ten, but five have been killed in the last three months. Predators were responsible for some of the deaths, but Mr Grundy believes thugs could have been responsible for the others.

With the latest deaths he now has only one goose left.
