ANDREW Gilford helped England seize the initiative on the opening day of the 12th annual Blind Golf international against Scotland.

The Darwen-based dairy worker was part of a 12-strong England team which led 3-2 going into today's fourballs at Kilmarnock Barassie Golf Club.

And with the match set to conclude with the singles tomorrow, England will be hoping to build up an unassailable lead as they bid to win back the Auld Enemies Cup which Scotland won at Beadlow Manor in Bedfordshire last year.
