CHORLEY schoolgirl Laura Hughes has won a place in the England Under 20 team to compete in the World Fell Championship in Malaysia. Laura is only 15 years old, and is the newly crowned English Under 16 Champion.
She won her place by finishing second in the trial at Latrigg on Saturday. A third team member will be selected later. Another 15 year old, Lisa Richardson, was sixth in the trial.
The World Championships will be held on Sunday, September 19 at Kinabalu Park in Malaysia. The race is scheduled to start at 7am because of the hot weather.
