TYLDESLEY RU tonked bottom club Trafford MV 32-8 for their fourth straight win.

Despite a sluggish start in the pack, there was still plenty of ball available for the backs who made impressive early in-roads.

From a scrum the ball was spun wide to winger Andy Dickinson who held off the challenge to score in the corner. Soon after he rushed through for his second.

The writing was on the wall but an error at the base of the Tyldesley scrum allowed Trafford in for a unconverted try to add to a earlier penalty.

But Tyldesley responded with centre Mark Swanton crashing over after good work by midfield partner Steve Ashurst.

The second half was all one-way, and to Trafford's credit they did well to hold Tyldesley to just two tries, both by Swanton for his hat-trick.

His second was a gem, Eddie Wallbank pouncing on a loose ball to send Fraser MacIntosh away. He handed on to Swanton who chipped ahead, took possession on a kind bounce and accelerated in under the posts.

Saturday's visit of higher-ranked Blackburn for a NPI Cup (2nd round) game will be more of a test.

The Seconds won 16-5 at Trafford with tries from Craig Broadhurst and Steve Parr; the Thirds paid for early mistakes as they went down 18-10 at home to Trafford.
