WITH other disasters overtaking the carnage created by NATO in Yugoslavia, and as the depleted uranium dust settles over the Balkans, the western war aims are becoming clearer by the day.

Pious and hypocritical words about "humanitarian aims" are becoming less audible now that the Kosovan Liberation Army thugs have ethnically cleansed 200,000 Serbs from Kosovo.

It is not surprising that we are now denied such news, or that of the delivery of three Hawk aircraft to Indonesia during the week of September 19. The Labour Government has spent £1 million of taxpayers' money training more than 50 members of the Indonesian military in Britain since it came to power, besides training 24 senior members of the Indonesian forces in UK military colleges.

According to Pentagon documents, the US has trained an elite force of the Kopassus, despite its role in the genocide of 200,000 people after Indonesia's invasion of East Timor.

The Blair and Clinton governments are complicit in the tragic murder of hundreds of thousands of East Timorese and should be judged accordingly.
