LYTHAM ST ANNES 1ST XI 3 CHESTER 3

TOP of the table LSA entertained Chester at the Ansdell Arena, and in a fast excellent game two first half mistakes allowed the visitors to take a 2-0 lead.

Just before half-time, however, Chris Kay hammered in a rebound from his original penalty corner shot.

LSA applied considerable pressure in the second half and were rewarded after a stick penalty corner resulted in a flick which Robbins confidently converted.

Chester restored their advantage after LSA were reduced to ten men due to over-exuberance.

The home side then fought really hard and scored in the dying seconds when David Hans nearly hit the ball over the flailing keeper after Robbins' penalty corner shot had been saved.

Despite a lot of pressure they were unable to equalise.

LYTHAM LADIES 1ST XI 1

MORECAMBE 1ST XI 1

THIS turned out to be a very even Premier Division game with Morecambe virtually dominated the first half in which they scored their only goal after about 20 minutes.

However, the advantage swung the other way in the second half and after determined and excellent work by skipper Michelle Singleton and Alexia Pellowe in particular.

Ann Preston scored a good game to draw the match.

Young Jenny Reid and the experienced Niamh O'Donoghue, at sweeper also performed really superbly.

LYTHAM 2ND XI 0 SOUTHPORT 1ST XI 2

THIS was always going to be a tough match for Lytham against a club that is gradually making its presence felt.

Brenda Lanigan and Amy Leach conferred well on the right creating goal attacking opportunities which unfortunately were not capitalised upon.

Southport pushed forward with plenty of players and were eventually rewarded with their two goals.
