MEN and women swimmers will soon discover it's all change at Bury's Castle Leisure Centre.

Disabled people and mums with their toddlers will also enjoy better facilities under new plans to improve the centre.

Town hall bosses have already spent £14,000 on work in the ladies' dry-side changing rooms which have now reopened. Alterations included re-tiling, new shower and toilet cubicles, new lockers and benches.

Further improvements are now planned for both the male and female wet-side changing rooms. New shower and changing cubicles are to be installed while mothers and babies as well as disabled people will be better catered for.

Councillor Warren Flood, sports and recreation spokesman, said: "The changing facilities are well used and we have wanted for some time to carry out improvements there: now those are going ahead.

"I am sure that these improved facilities will be much appreciated and add to the popularity of the centre."
