ANDY Cooke continued to wage his one-man scoring crusade against Millwall to help the Clarets claim a valuable point in the Lions' Den.

Burnley completed the double over Millwall last season when Cooke weighed in with three goals.

And the striker felt the omens were good as he returned to the starting line-up for the first time since the third game of the campaign.

"I got a header early on here last season and I had a feeling I would score," revealed Cooke, who has now netted twice with his head in three starts either side of a hamstring injury.

"I was very pleased to get back in the side. I have worked very hard to get back in. The gaffer gave me a chance and I was very pleased to get a goal, early on as well," he added.

Cooke has had to bide his time for a return but he fully warranted his recall after three games on the bench as manager Stan Ternent reunited him with Andy Payton in a 4-4-2 line-up.

That formation had the home side on the ropes in the first half before they hit back to clinch a 1-1 draw.

And despite the disappointment of conceding Tim Cahill's 70th-minute leveller, Cooke wasn't too upset with the outcome.

"We came down here to win the game with the formation the gaffer played and we were a bit unfortunate not to win.

"But they've got a great squad and I think the gaffer was pleased overall," he added.

"It's always hard to come down here. They are a big strong side and there aren't many sides that come and get a result.

"Last year we came here and got two goals which proved good enough and I felt we needed the second goal again.

"It was important that we got it but we didn't and it proved better for them as they got the equaliser in the end."
