COMMUNITY health council members threw out moves to close Ribchester Hospital early.

The council's general purposes committee rejected a plea for a change of mind from health authority chairman Ian Woolley. He asked them to drop their fight for the hospital and said if it continued, delays could cost £60,000 and put other areas of patient care at risk.
