Haydock 40, Hindley 4

HAYDOCK reached the third round of the Lancashire Cup without too much trouble.

They were always on top but took 15 minutes to score when Tither touched down in the corner and Haughey converted.

Haydock were rocked by an injury to Bloor. He was replaced by Lowe who made an immediate impact.

He backed up Kelsey's great break and passed to Haughey, who side-stepped his way over for a try he also converted.

Haydock went further ahead when Lowe crossed wide out. Hindley hit back with a try just before the break.

Haydock were soon on the scoresheet when Haughey sliced through and sent Newton over. Haughey converted.

Minutes later full-back Dolan took the ball and raced 40 yards to touch down. Then good passing sent centre Abbott over.

With 10 minutes to Haydock broke from defence and a pass from Lowe saw Kelsey race 50 yards to the line. And the icing on the cake came when Cahalin went 25 to score under the posts, allowing Haughey a simple conversion.

Haydock A 30, Clock Face 24

The Miners gave Haydock a real run for their money . David Owen opened the scoring for Haydock after five minutes and Neil Chisnall added the conversion. Clock drew level with a try by Steve Rybczynski, converted by Karl Walker. But Haydock surged ahead with further tries from Pat Philbin and Owen, Chisnall adding a conversion.

Clock kept in contention with a Mark Chatterton try and Walker conversion. Phil Barton completed the first-half scoring for Haydock with an unconverted try.

And Haydock opened the second-half scoring, when Mark Richardson scored under the sticks, giving Chisnall a simple penalty. And when Lee Cooper scored for Haydock, all seemed lost for Clock.

However, Thompson found a gap in the Haydock defence.And then a great pass fromn Damian Grimes sent Thompson over again. Walker converted both. Wigan St Cuthberts under 14s 0, Haydock 50

Tries came from Chris Dyson (2), Matthew Allen, Robert Palmer, Matthew Foley, Daniel Liecester, Mark Jones, Craig Tipene and Rekon man of the match Stephen Arrowsmith. Matthew Foley kicked seven goals. Top tackler was Daniel Rimmer.

Haydock under 13s 24, Thatto Heath 30

The Sharpe man of the match was Darren Forshaw, while Daniel Gregory collected the Thirsty Yicker top tackler award. Sam Melia was the Pizza Perfect most improved and unsung hero was Barry Barton. Martin Jones earned the coaches award.

Oldham St Annes under 12s 22, Haydock 24

Haydock were caught cold as St Annes scored on their first drive. But Haydock recovered to record a fine victory. Scorers were man-of-the-match D. Johnson (4) and S. Hudson, who shared the coaches award with K. Davies. Top tackler was D. Weldon and most improved were S. O'Rourke and M. Cieslar.

Haydock under nines 44, Leyland 42

Skipper and man of the match Thomas Taylor scored a hat-trick of tries and others came from top tackler Ryan Livesley (4), Thomas Colborn, and Joshua Glover (2). Joshua Glovers and Joshua Jackson kicked a conversion apiece. Most improved was Kirsty Livesley and debutant Nicholas Hollas received the coaches award.

Latchford under eights 12, Haydock 42

Tries came thick and fast for Haydock. West Lancs Steel man of the match Matty Herd scored a hat-trick and coaches award winner Mike Tress score two. Others came from Jordy Gibson (2), Aaron Lloyd (2), Nathan Halliwell (2), top tackler Carl Dingsdale, Scott Hale, Gary Anderton and Kyle Braithwaite. Most improved was Adam Melia.
